Ok, haven't been posting for a while...gonna finish up the LTC...
Third day began...slept much more than the first night, which was a bit uncomfortable though as my legs were hanging due to my bag at my head, and i used the sleeping bag as my pillow instead of a cushion...back hurt a bit (becoming old lol...)
Today was more packed than the day before so once breakfast was done, onto the activities and got chosen as 2IC for the day...
First off was trolley party, where we basically help remove the harness, karabiners and safety lines from the person who took the flying fox, and I was the runner to attach back the rope and bring it back...I was real sweaty but still, good run!
Next was the Spider Web and team-building stations, which was basically to lead the blindfolded person with strings attached to him without touching the benches. I was the first one who volunteered, and it was kinda fun walking slowly, until the teacher set to a time limit of 1 minute when my team-mate after me finished it. The goal was to finish asap, but it was quite difficult, and a failure in going across resulted in 10 push-ups hahas...
Anyway, next was Abseiling! the fun part...was the first time I did it...wasn't chosen to go up for the previous school camps I had...either that or was too afraid to go up...well not anymore.
Lunch, then back to activities...high rope elements (didn't get to go up, but did the belaying), rock-climbing (hard to go up at the part where the wall was diagonally up and outwards..gave up at the point when I lost my grip, teacher also wanted the males to do the red or yellow, so red it was...), and flying fox! Also another fun one, and I hit the metal safety line and my sternum started to hurt again...old wound back again...still hurts presently....nothing serious I hope.
After these, we practised our dance. But my AV chairman (Charlene) and I had to practise setting up the radio and equipment needed for the campfire...lol...even in camps, we are still needed...oh well...that's our job!
Went back to practising...Yien Jun was really tired, didn't sleep well...and hands had blisters...passed to him and the other drummer (See Ting) my gloves (those that don't cover the fingers)...hitting the table is blistering business lols...
Dusk arrived...had dinner then campfire! Basically sat at the speakers with Charlene to adjust the volume..until it was our turn! Some of the audiences didn't quite get it...but at least we did something out of it (heard a couple of laughs)..that's something to be proud of...
We even asked the teachers to perform for us!...but in the end, we still had to join in...fast foward to the end of campfire...debriefing with Mr Goh...supper (the milo was real heavenly once again..and I finished up my dry biscuits with my camp-mates!) and then sleep...before that, there was a commotion of the basketball boys rushing to the toliets..........without pants...everyone at the male bunks were lol-ing...lucky the female bunks were quite far hahas...although there was a part where the canteen can see the path to the toilets..wonder how they got there undetected lol...
Sleep was real uncomfortable, due to the rain in the afternoon...did cheers after lunch while raining (forgot to mention that...until it stopped that's when the activities resume)..all I can say for the cheers...................agh.....
Sleep was totally disturbed by the noise from the canteen (died down after 11 plus or so, slept around that time), and mosquito infestations! these tiny pesky little insects are real annoying and persistent..biting me all over....even took off my shirt due to the humidity in the open-air bunk :X..but who cares..female bunks are far away anyways hahas....nothing spectacular to see too XD
sleeping position was super uncomfortable despite sleeping bag on...one guy's legs really cut down my sleeping space, wonder why they napped there in the first place near me! there was also a malay camp-mate praying...so there was silence and respect in the air...not counting the snores...
Slept until 5am!..when Fire Drill occured....no one was prepared..luckily my socks were beside me..so slipped them on and run to the parade square...unfortunately...the teacher was putting a scenario for us...about what....burning the Command Post..bunks....canteen...gate...funny it seemed at first...but wasn't in the end...
Did fire drill again...and we got out of the gate....everyone was so-called safe....but it wasn't funny...everyone took it seriously this time...after that...area cleaning and...we had to pack our bags and don our wet attire...cause we had to go to the sea, arms locked, walked into the soft seabed (shoes almost got stuck!), and sang the College song twice as well as the College creed...was quite a nice and prideful moment...what a timing to choose too! (Dawn was approaching, really matched the school song...except not when we are in water)
Also wondered if we awakened the fishermen there with our loud voices and echoes..well the dogs were barking....so...hahas...ur brand new alarm clock!
After that wet event...took a wash and changed into dry attire...followed by breakfast...really tasted bad for me XP...strong flour taste and dry too....except the milo...
had debrief for the different CCA groups..split into SC...Clubs and Societies...and SYF Groups (Forgot the exact name for that)...discussed about our CCAs and our challenges we faced (Was told that Interact Club had 64 J1s! real manpower problem here...and Astronomy Club had 7!)
So we formed the Clubs and Societies Alliance...sounds very catchy...and exchanged hotmails as well as mobile phone numbers...meanwhile there was fogging too...but nvm that...no white clouds near us...
assembled back at parade square where the hot sun had arisen...bag was quite hot but at least sunned the bag straps...was real wet on the first night...sweat lahs...
There was another school that came too...good luck i must say...already heard shouting...debriefing for us and applauding...
At the last part, we were so-called tricked that we had to hike back the 15-click again...everyone was damn tired to hear that...lines were formed at water coolers already...took pics and finally my bag with a huge laundry bag...santa claus haha...and walked to the part where there were 3 buses lined up..when Mr Ang suddenly said, "Ok, let's turn around and board the bus!" Cheers were heard....air conditioners finally!...and back to school! took back valuables..got ready for a short debrief of "Leaders!................ok, you can go...."
Yeah...that's about it..for LTC...hahas...
